(In)dependent Changes

Posted on July 3, 2007 By

The banner has been raised -here and elsewhere in the blog-o-sphere, as well as in Sanghas and Congregations the World over- to consciously and intentionally raise our level of awareness from something based in human ego and emotion to something else; and by so doing, to raise the vibrational level of the whole World. This is an important message, and I suspect it’s origins come more from the Metaphysical Realm, channeled through various individuals sensitive to such things, than it has to do with any human frustration with the current state of affairs or with any human ideal of how the world should work. And with American Independence Day looming in the near future, with war taking over various corners of the world, hatred and famine and jealousy and violence and ego and fanaticism of all sorts in our communities, there are many ways our individual “little efforts” can help raise the vibration of the world. It’s about time for a change, isn’t it?

So how do we do this? Well, we must first be aware that there are alternatives to the “reality” that is thrust upon us courtesy of the media and “popular opinion”. One person’s reality does not have to be ours, but to manifest our own realities (because that is what we’re talking about here, after all), we must first acknowledge this essential truth. Then we can go about creating our own vision of the world, knowing that this “new world” is already there, ready to manifest. We hold that vision in our hearts and in our minds – pouring our energies into that reality, disregarding all other lower-vibrational options. The banner for a new world is raised, others are drawn to the cause, and it gains momentum. The more people start thinking for themselves instead of mindlessly following “public opinion”, and the more people who share a vision of a peaceful, open, compassionate and accepting world, the more power that belief gains… and the world begins to change. Tangibly. Powerfully. Immediately.

The world is changing already – can you see it? Can you feel it? What are you doing to help it?

To pursue this notion of activating change, if we follow a basic morality (“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” – Jesus, Luke 6:31), meditate, love unconditionally, and just believe in a better world, things will change. We can start small. We can start with ourselves, gaining some control over our thoughts and behaviors and reactions. We can eliminate violence, even the most subtle kind, from our homes, from our communities. We can increase our own vibrational rate, see more clearly, act more deliberately and responsibly. We can be aware of the karmic footprints we leave behind with each action, each thought, each malicious word, each spoken untruth. We can choose to feel, instead of disregard and dismiss. We can honor life, instead of throwing it away (human and otherwise). We can live from the heart, to the heart, compassionately, with unconditional love always at the forefront of our lives, at the forefront of our interactions. Love. Yes love. True, unconditional, ego-less, love.

“In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispells hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.”
– Buddha, The Dhammapada, “Choices”

Namaste. Peace. And love…pure, unconditional love.

    Hi MM…. 🙂

    Fabulous post!

I was wondering… if you feel so inclined if you would participate in a meme I started a few weeks ago…

    http://goodnessgraciousness.blogspot.com/2007/06/hold-vision-you-are-officially-tagged.html

It speaks to you thoughts on holding a vision for a hew world!

    Your blog is fabulous!

I can see and feel that the world is changing too. Something is happening from the inside out. So glad that your observations are reconfirming this intuitive kernel of truth that I am trying to pay attention to.

    Another great post!

    Om, OMM!

Thank you all for the supportive comments! Yes, the world is changing, and it is changing from the inside out; this is a large and permanent change underway now. It is a change for a better world and it is gaining momentum… of course, every little bit, every person adding their intent and vision to it, helps the process and I am thrilled to be able to nudge it along a bit by confirming the suspicions and perhaps offering some encouragement to those reading this blog. Thank you!! *bows*

Jennifer: thank you. I have seen that Meme, and do intend to participate. This is related to that in a general way, but my true vision for our future is quite a bit more specific and developed than what I’ve mentioned thus far here (it may be a project in and of itself, but we shall see).

Namaste. Keep the vision. Make the change!
