Peacock & Feathers

… A quick rambling from a busy Monkey, concerning a message sent in a dream and recently revisited in physical reality…

PEACOCK, recent experience in physical reality:
A beautiful bird, seen in the wild… one confident in itself enough not to be shy or threatened by humans approaching. It jumped down from it’s low perch to share the same footing as we, graceful and almost expectant in demeanor, he walked around, displaying his gorgeous plumage for several minutes, occasionally fluffing his feathers for maximum effect. Beautiful, rich, iridescent blue on his throat, lustrous green across his shoulders, tail feathers with blue center spots, ringed with a soft gold tone. Dazzled by the sight of this magnificent bird, we watched him for 20 minutes or more, getting within six feet of the beautiful creature.

FEATHERS, from a dream not long ago:
Peacock feathers, arranged in a vase with dried reeds, set for display (but not only for display) on a side table in the corner of a comfortably lit room, colored soft white and pale sea foam / turquoise green/blue. A disk, about a foot in diameter, also covered in feathers and held with the hands as if in mid-creation or in preparation for hanging upon the wall, being examined. Lush, vibrant tones of turquoise and royal blue and indigo and a pure deep green… a dream of … security and protection of a sort. Somehow a reminder of the spirit within and the pure Light that dwells there. A re-opening of the Heart and a reconnection to the Universal… aaaaah, the relief to be returned to this consciousness!

Common Meanings:
Often associated with greater vision and awareness, wisdom. It is the bird that most closely resembles the description of the Phoenix through many cultures world-wide. It is often also held sacred and associated with the God(s/esses) of various cultures including that of Amon-Ra and Horus in Egypt and Hindra to the Hindu populace. The peacock is also frequently thought to embody the concept of resurrection, and it is reputed to be able to destroy poisonous snakes…

Greetings

Ah… Hello and greetings, everyone! It is a bit odd to be writing after such a break from the blog-o-sphere, but Spirit has mandated a return, so here we are once more. I have already delayed far too long.

So what happened that the Monkey disappeared, and so suddenly? Well, I got caught up in the external world; the world of politics and biased media, and was overcome by the bombardment of rather short-sighted and depressing mainstream philosophies, ideologies and physicalities. I started rereading Brave New World, and realized that the fantasy world described therein is hitting far too close to home in our reality right now. This turned my thoughts towards politics and pharmaceuticals and agendas and the general chaos reigning over the physical world - bombings and destruction and threats world-wide.

The book is back on the bookshelf now, unfinished, and beyond reviewing headlines, little “news” is being read and the politicians can bicker amongst themselves all they wish - it is inconsequential when it comes right down to it. But in a world so overcome by fear and ego in its various forms, each jostling to assert its dominance over all else, it is all the more important to first look within for the guidance we as a people so desperately need. Should each of us actually be able to listen and act upon our hearts’ directions, the goodness ripples outward, eventually affecting all things in the World. And this is the message to which we must listen these days, for time is short, tempers shorter and Lightworkers world-wide must unite and stay true to their paths for the betterment of the world.

The world is changing, let us help guide it off the destructive path and towards evolution instead. Somewhere in this process lies my Path, and once more has the mantle been accepted to spread what messages of Light and Love I may be able. It is good to be back.

Namaste, my friends… namaste.

Feathers!

Feathers! Big, lush, luminescent iridescent feathers! Peacock feathers to be precise… and with the turquoise and violet and brilliant emerald. Lush tones evoking memories and reminders of all that is, all that was and all that will be.

Snatched from the edge of forgetfulness on the ending edge of a dream, so fractured has my attention been lately, it is a welcomed reminder, embraced with the heart, at the heart… as where it should be.

Namaste.

Out of the Habit

Ok, I admit it - I’m out of the habit of sitting at the computer, writing down my thoughts and impressions on the greater reality of the physical world… There seems too many things to do in the course of a day lately and simply not enough time to decompress enough from the physical aspects of living in order to naturally convey thoughts on higher reality in the time alloted to do so each day. So the Physical wins round 1 … or is it round 3,000? Or is it just another loop in the cycle? LOL… it is really just another loop, and that’s fine, but I can’t help but feel like I’m dropping the ball for everyone who has ventured to my blog and, in fact, to everyone currently on the Path or contemplating it. For that, I hope you please accept my most sincere apologies.

Is providing the support and encouragement to walk the Path solely mine? No, but it is part of my particular Path … part of my Spiritual assignment to reach out to the World, to help find and encourage those who suddenly find themselves contemplating such things - especially in this time of dramatic growth and development of World Consciousness. But it is also part of my Path to support and provide for my family and to raise awareness in those physically more closer, and ultimately this is a personal lesson on Balancing the two (I suspect there have been many more lifetimes than I am currently aware spent sequestered in monasteries and such). So here we are back to the dichotomy and duality and the nature of the World… None of it matters, when it gets right down to it… and all of it does.

So I hope you forgive my rather sporadic writing the last month or so, and bear with me as I try to regain my momentum and reclaim the habit of writing for the blog. Not all of what I may write may be as “intense” as some of my articles in the past, but it is what it is meant to be… but that may not be a bad thing either.

Thank you … and Namaste, my friends…

monkey

My creativity has been taking a visual twist lately, and so posting the newest monkey sketch of a stuffed toy seemed appropriate…

monkeyishness

Restless,
Unsettled,
Anxious and bored.
Looking this way
and that way
for some escape
from the ordinary
and mundane.

Monkey mind
constantly chattering
nonsense.
Monkey mind begets
monkey actions
begets monkey decisions
and monkey emotions.

Hoping for external solutions,
and searching for alternatives,
Escape is not an option.
Reality is what we make it.
Whether constantly waving in the wake of
emotions and mind
thoughts and actions
Or still, as the calm that overcomes a pool
in Winter.

The true peace comes from within.
Is known only within the depths
of the soul,
the spirit,
If one can only settle enough
to listen,
to hear,
to feel with the heart,
and to reap the benefits.

shades of a dream

What has become an occasional recurring dream, this time it appeared with a new twist. Instead of confusion and indecision, although a bit of that remained, the message on this newer version of the dream was clear: Collect and sort through old and as yet unseen notes and papers, then close the door to those bits of past, those shades of ideas, leaving the key to them behind. Shuffle through them, without giving them too much credit, for they are too old now to be truly relevant. Revisit them just for some sense of closure and then go on, without looking back again.

The message is to end that chapter, to clear the confusion and to make decisions, to finish any old unfinished business and to then go forward. Go forward, by going back. Go forward by revisiting places and aspects of ‘what was’ which have haunted a bit… haunted enough to inhibit moving forward even though the influence was subtle. To identify the influences which have acted as a limiter on what can be, of what is. In some ways, the starting anew is to start once more from the “ground up” although the task/occupation at hand is old and familiar. Part of the task at hand is to search for the location and the means to accomplish the goal, for there is some unfinished business from a fresh perspective that it is now time to take on, resolve, and to metamorphose.

And so to pursue the details of what I must now pursue with fresh mind and spirit, releasing any remnants of confusion or indecision or irrelevant history and leaving them behind…

What’s in a Name?

The innate human quest for meaning and the drive to define ourselves on this plane can be a powerful thing. Sometimes meaning in one’s life can appear in the strangest places or at the strangest times. Other times, it is provided by the culture in which one lives or by the belief-systems to which we subscribe, such as the natural passage to puberty, Baptism or Bar Mitzvah in one’s faith, marriage, the birth of a child, the undertaking of a Vision Quest or other cultural rites, ancient or modern.

Observational Twists

“Man’s mind once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimension.”
- Oliver Wendell Holmes

vertspacer-25px.png
After spending so much time delving into and evaluating the Inner world, I’m suddenly drawn to looking at the Outer one once more. This shift in attention is partly due to the changes being wrought in the physical World and the dissolution of the artificial boundary between the inner and outer realms. It is time to make changes in the way we do things and the way we interact with each other. And these changes are happening. As a whole, we are shifting -evolving- to a more responsible, compassionate and sympathetic species.

Questions and Answers

It seems once more I’m in a period of (new) growth and transition… recently (or is that ‘currently’?) mired in the physical, it’s been difficult to find the time to meditate or to blog or, on occasion, even sleep. But being always on the move has provided an opportunity to experience the physical once more in a manner that only serves to emphasize the cyclical nature of spirit-to-physical and back to spirit again. And, I’m beginning to realize that it is part of my particular Path to tread between the two… at least for now.
