Hrrmmm…
I’ve not been writing much lately for a variety of reasons – mostly, that my time to do so has been required for other things, but also that I’ve been experiencing what can only be described as a change in focus. This isn’t a change from the inner/metaphysical, but rather a change that includes a larger scale than dealing only with my personal inner demons. Yes, I’m talking about the state of the World and the current political/economic situation.
Yes, according to Buddha, the ultimate goal is to live In the world and not Of it, and although this is idealistically true, with a certain awareness also comes a certain responsibility. Part of our evolution as a species is the recognition of the interweaving that exists between us on the innermost levels of existence, and the realization that not only do we rely on each other, we help each other create our realities; We Are each other. This is a tough realization to accomplish when some aspects of ourselves are persecuted while others are the persecutors and manipulate our physicality behind the scenes with layer upon layer of fear, ego, confusion and abuse.
But, as mentioned elsewhere on this blog, all things are truly a part of the metaphysical, and a part of our spiritual practice. And so, with a bit of fire in my belly concerning recent political and world events and decisions, I’m writing again… because it’s important to face the challenges in the physical world, just as it is important to face the challenges within ourselves. If we are to truly evolve as a species and manifest a different reality on Mother Earth -one of mutual respect, loving strength and compassion- we must acknowledge this aspect of ourselves as well.
“Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny–he has something to fulfill, some message has to be delivered, some work has to be completed. You are not here accidentally–you are here meaningfully. There is a purpose behind you. The whole intends to do something through you.”
